Professor Peter D. John is currently Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Plymouth . He has a national and international profile in the field of pedagogy, technology and professional learning, in particular, the policy and practice of teacher education, inter-professional development, and the impact of new technologies on pedagogy and learning. Currently, Peter acts as a consultant to various governmental and non-governmental bodies including the Teacher Training Agency, the DfES and the QCA.

Peter has recently been a featured speaker at conferences organised by BECTa and NESTA FutureLabs and is co-director of the ESRC InterActive Education Project, and director of the ESRC Video-Asset Project and the TTA funded Video-Inspired Dialogue Project.  He is author of numerous chapters and journal articles on ICT, pedagogy and professional development and the use of video in teacher and education.  He also serves on the editorial board of two international journals and is the author and co-author of a number of books including Professional Knowledge and Professional Practice (Cassell) and The InterActive Project (Routledge/Falmer).  Forthcoming publications include: The Digital Classroom (Routledge - co-authored with Steve Wheeler) and a special edition of Education Review on technology, pedagogy and learning.
