Embedding Learning Technologies

This project ran from 1998 to 2001 with funding from the Teaching and Learning Technologies Programme. It's aim was to investigate the benefits of structured programmes to support staff through the process of embedding learning technologies into their teaching. Programmes were developed at each of the five consortium institutions and later at a number of other partner institutions. Each programme was based on an active learning model with the same seven generic learning outcomes.

External evaluation found that the programmes had '[helped] practitioners to embed communications and information technology more effectively and appropriately, with sensitivity to issues such as student learning...' The philosophy behind the project, and the EFFECTS generic learning outcomes and values, have been carried forward into the SEDA Embedding Learning Technologies award.
