Safety/ Risk Assessment

All fieldwork requires the assessment of potential risks to students and staff, such as personal equipment e.g. appropriate footwear for rough or slippery terrain, clothing for prevention of hypothermia etc, and the subsequent compilation of a Risk Assessment form detailing the risks identified, their probability and severity and controls in place or actions to be taken.

There is a copy of the Risk Assessment in Lab+ and accessible below. All students MUST read and sign the Risk Assessment in Lab+ before they will be allowed to borrow a PDA. They must also take a copy of the Risk Assessment with them into the field.
