Posters and presentations from the 2011 VC’s Teaching and Learning Conference will be available shortly.
The event celebrated excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, facilitated the sharing of good practice and launched PedRIO (Pedagogic Research Institute & Observatory). It also included the presentation of the University’s Teaching Fellowship Awards by the Vice Chancellor.

Bill RammellBill Rammell is a French graduate from Cardiff University. He built a successful career in public sector management and between 1987 and 1997 was Head of Youth Services with Basildon Council, General Manager of Kings College London Students' Union, and General Manager of the University of London Union. Bill was elected as the Member of Parliament for Harlow in 1997, and spent 8 years serving in Government as Minister of State at the Foreign Office, where he was responsible for relations with North and South East Asia and the Middle East, Minister of State for the Armed Forces, and Minister of State for Further and Higher Education. In the latter role Bill was responsible for implementing the current fees regime, and leading the Prime Minister’s Initiative for the globalisation of higher education. Bill was appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UoP in February this year, responsible for the student experience and internationalisation. |
Professor Sir Peter ScottProfessor Sir Peter Scott joined the Institute of Education as Professor of Higher Education Studies in January 2011. Prior to that he was the Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University for 12 years. Other roles have included; Pro Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Education at the University of Leeds, and Director of the Centre for Policy Studies in Education. He was Editor of The Times Higher Education Supplement for 16 years. Before that he was a reporter and then a leader writer on The Times. |
